Request Data Deletion

Hifzan ("we," "us," or "our") allows you to delete all of your usage data while keeping your account active. This is the right choice if you want to start fresh without losing access to the Application. What gets deleted

Tapping Delete Data in the app immediately and permanently removes the following from our servers and your device:

  • Memorization progress — verses memorized, sessions, plans, and review history;
  • Statistics — daily activity, streaks, and performance metrics;
  • Goals — any saved memorization goals;
  • Achievements — earned milestones and challenge records;
  • Chat conversations — your interactions with the AI memorization assistant;
  • Audio recordings — any recitation audio uploaded to our servers during ASR sessions;
  • Cached data on your device.

How to delete your data

Data deletion is performed directly within the Hifzan application:

  1. Open the Hifzan app and sign in.
  2. Open the side menu and tap Settings.
  3. Tap Privacy.
  4. Scroll to the Danger Zone section at the bottom.
  5. Tap Delete Data.
  6. Confirm when prompted. Deletion happens immediately.

Reduce data collection going forward

If you want to stop new data from being collected without deleting your existing data, the same Privacy screen offers two opt-out toggles under Data Controls:

  • Cloud Audio — when enabled, your recitation audio is processed only on-device and never uploaded to our servers;
  • Training Data — when enabled, none of your data is used to improve our speech recognition models.

Data that is retained

Even after Delete Data, the following information necessarily remains while your account is active:

  • Account profile (name, email, user identifier) — required to operate the account;
  • Subscription and payment records — retained for legal and tax compliance regardless of account state;
  • Backup snapshots — may contain recently-deleted data for up to ninety (90) days before being overwritten in the normal backup rotation;
  • Anonymized or aggregated analytics that cannot be used to re-identify you.

Timeline

The in-app Delete Data action is processed immediately on our servers and on your device. Backup snapshots cycle out within ninety (90) days.
